Civil War in Myanmar

Have you ever been in the middle of a firefight? When you look for an escape all you see are soldiers and explosions and you feel an overabundance of uncontrollable adrenaline. What would you do? Well in my father's case, he carried me on his back and held my sister in his arms and ran through the explosions feinting and dodging obstacles with my mother close behind. Much like a running back in a football game, he twisted and turned with the ultimate goal of reaching the safety zone, which was the forest. During the process of running and hiding my parents lost sight of my grandparents who were stopped by the soldiers and asked to stay inside the house. My parents could not stop and turn back for they knew that we will have the same fate as my grandparents. Ruthlessly the soldiers burned the house and my grandparents with it. My mother instantly tried to run back as my father stops her and said that we have to go, we have to run for our lives. So they did, they run and run until they reached the forest where the soldiers will not be looking because of its famous beasts and giant trees. Any one can lose their way in the forest but as for my father, that forest was his second home, he knew all the shortcuts and the right paths that will not lead us into danger. So we walked and walked searching for the village where my mother's parents lived to take refuge. From that time on moving was not a unusual thing to us anymore, it has just become part of our lives. We moved to Thailand, and Malaysia all because for one reason: To flee from execution by our own country. The term 'Refugee' became my nick name, because a 'refugee' by definition is someone who flee from execution by their own country. The civil war between the central government and the tribes have a huge amount of civilian casualties. Their greed for territory and wealth result in nothing but death and destruction. Wealthy people want to get wealthier, and powerful people never wants to let go of power once they tasted what it can do.
